Close Call On Bay Street

On September 17th, 2018 The Modena Fire Company was dispatched to Bay Street in South Coatesville Borough for a reported electrical fire inside of a residence. Deputy 37 (Willmott) and Battalion 37 (Corle) both responded and were advised by the Chester County 911 center that the caller reported an electrical socket next to the dryer was on fire.

Battalion 37 was the first arriving to half of a twin with nothing showing from the exterior. Upon further investigation Battalion 37 found a small fire had spread inside of the wall. Battalion 37 established the "Bay Street Command" and requested an Engine and ladder from the Coatesville Fire Department be added to the assignment. Engine 37 arrived and began fire suppression efforts with assistance from Ladder 41 and Engine 43.

The fire was placed under control at 10:16 due to a light smoke condition in the residence positive pressure fans had to be used. The scene was than turned back over to the homeowner and all 37, 41/43 units cleared the scene.
