East Fallowfield Road Crew Saves Resident and Extinguishes Lawn Tractor Fire in Modena Borough

On Friday July 28, 2017 The Modena Fire Company was dispatched at 0958 to 31 Woodland Avenue in Modena Borough for a report lawn tractor fire.

Units were notified on response that caller reported lawn tractor in a creek burning and one resident with burns to body. Lieutenant 37A (Hubler) arrived on scene reporting fire to be out holding the response to the ambulance.

The East Fallowfield road crew was driving by the scene and quickly went into action freeing the resident from the tractor and extinguishing the fire with extinguishers.

The resident lost control of tractor while cutting an embankment and crashed into a creek trapping themselves under the tractor which caught fire from gas splashing onto the hot engine.

The resident was transported to a local trauma center with burns.
