Engine assist Longwood on House Fire in Pocopson Township

On the evening of Wednesday January 13th, the Modena Fire Company was dispatched at 2130 for one engine to relocate station 36 Unionville. Unionville was assisting the Longwood Fire Company on a house fire on West Creek Road in Pocopson Township.
Engine 37-2 made the response with a crew of eight, half way to Unionville West Creek Road Command requested three additional engines to the scene for man power, Chester County fire radio notified Engine 37-2 they were to respond to the scene. After traveling some distance Engine 37-2 arrived on scene and it crew made the mile and a half walk to the burning structure.
Ones at the burning structure crews were set to the number two floor for fire suppression and overhaul where they spent most of the remainder of the evening. The Longwood and Po-Mar-Lin fire companies had a challenge on their hands from the start with this house sitting on a non hydrated road crews were forced to lay LDH (Large Diameter Hose) 5in for quiet some distant estimated around 5 to 6 Thousand feet of 5in hose was laid and pumped with relay pumpers.
Crews from both Chester and Delaware Counties worked together to extinguish the fire into the early morning hours.
