Auto Accident Reported W/Entrapment in West Marlbough

On Sunday evening January 31, 2009 at 2134 hours the Modena Fire Company, a rescue from the Po-Mar-Lin Fire Company and Medic 93 from Brandywine were dispatched to and accident reported with entrapment on Doe Run Road East of Cover Bridge Road in West Marlbough Township.
Ambulance 37-1 made an immediate response and was advised there were reports of two people trapped in a rolled over car. A second Medic and Ambulance were requested at that time. The Assistant Fire Marshal from East Fallowfield arrived on scene reporting two still in the car and one that had self extricated themselves. Medic 93-1 requested a helicopter be placed on standby at that time Deputy Chief Dowlin then requested an engine out of Westwood to handle the landing zone at Covered Bridge and Doe Run Roads.
Deputy Chief Dowlin arrived on scene and assumed Doe Run Road command he was then notified by EMS that all patient self extricated themselves and there was no entrapment. Doe Run Road command then reduced the speed on the Rescue and had all fire apparatus continue in to the scene for lighting and to assist the EMS crew with patient care.
After further evaluation of the patients it was decided by the Medics to fly both patients to a trauma center. Chief Scott from the Westwood Fire Company took LZ command and him and Rescue 44 landed two helicopters Skycare from Brandywine and Pennstar out of West Chester. Once on scene patient care was transferred and both patients were flown to Crozer Chester Medical Center.
Knolls towing responded and rolled the vehicle upright and removed it from the scene. All fire and EMS apparatus were placed available and command was terminated at 2238 hours.
