By Fire Chief Frank Dowlin
October 8, 2019

It is with the deepest regrets that the Modena Fire Company announces the passing of Past Treasurer George Connard “Connie” Riegner on October 8, 2019.

Connie was a life member of the company. He served as Treasurer from 1969 until 1994.

During his time with the company his passion was always to make sure the company was financial set for the future. Connie happiest moment was when the company was able to purchase a new engine spec to our needs in 1989. This truck was later dedicated to Connie at the company’s 75th anniversary in August of 1997.

In 1994 Connie handpicked his replacement and mentored him to take over in 1995, that individual was Mike Townsley Jr., Mike remains the company’s Treasure today.

The Modena Fire Company ask that you keep the Riegner family in your thoughts and prays during these tough times.
