On Saturday April 24, 2021 around 4pm the Westwood Fire Company was alerted to the Harrison House of Coatesville for an automatic fire alarm, Chief 44 and Engine 44-5 arrived and when walking in the front door were meant by staff stating there was smoke coming from the basement. Once at the door to basement they where meet with smoke banked from celling to floor, Chief 44 immediately ordered the staff to evacuate the building and upgraded to the building assignment.

Engine 37-2 made the response and once on scene started to work on ventilation, the fire was quickly knocked and held to the room of origin however the smoke condition was significant on the first two floors.

A large ventilation event to say the least using multiple fans from all company's on scene piggy backing them to push more air.

The evacuation process went very well with all 80 plus residence evacuated just as the fire was knocked. A hats off to the Harrison House staff and EMS crews.

The assignment was held to Westwood, Modena, Keystone Valley, Coatesville and Sadsburyville.

Modena units remained on scene for over two hours doing ventilation.
