In a recent update from Chester County Emergency Services, the local 9-1-1 Center has been inundated with numerous calls about a pervasive haze and electrical odor across various areas throughout the county. After consulting with the National Weather Service, it has been confirmed that this phenomenon is a result of smoke particles drifting south from the ongoing wildfires in Nova Scotia, Canada, combined with easterly winds blowing in from the ocean.

Despite concerns raised by residents, authorities have assured that there is no immediate environmental hazard associated with the air quality. However, the situation is expected to persist overnight and into Tuesday, May 30, until the winds eventually change direction.
