On May 21 at 9:59 p.m., Modena Fire Company and mutual aid units were dispatched to a reported house fire in East Fallowfield Township. Captain 37 arrived on scene with smoke visible and called for a working fire dispatch and a tanker task force, as the area does not have fire hydrants. Battalion 37 (Lewis) arrived shortly after and established command of the incident.

Engine 37 was the first fire engine to arrive at the scene. Tanker 37 was the first tanker to arrive, supplying its water to Engine 37. Battalion 49 directed crews to take the first hose line through the front door to prevent the fire from spreading from the garage into the rest of the home. Firefighters encountered high heat and low visibility while working inside. The fire was successfully contained to the garage area.
