Chester County Deputy Fire Marshal Retires

By Deputy Chief Frank Dowlin
November 1, 2010

Deputy Chief Fire Marshal Charlie Owens (FM101) retired from his part-time position with the Chester County Fire Marshal's Office on October 8, 2010 after 22 years of investigating fires and providing other Fire Marshal Services to the residents of Chester County.

Charlie, and his partner in crime, Russ Kilmer (FM102), formed a team that was commonly and affectionately referred to as the "A Team" in southern Chester County. They worked almost every investigation together at fire scenes throughout the county. Individually, these gentleman are truly great people. Together, they formed a tandem that was always a welcomed sight and second to none. We will miss his guidance and leadership on the fireground.

The Officers and Members of the Modena Fire Company would like to thank Charlie for his years of dedicated service and wish him success in his new job. It has been an honor and privilege to work with you for so many years. You are true friend to our fire company.

Everyone knows the truth about you doing all of the labor during the investigations while Russ "supposedly" gathered information. We promise to honor you, as we vow not to do any shoveling for Russ when he comes to the 37 local. (Just Kidding!)

Best of Luck, Friend!
