Engine 3, Ambulance 2, and Smokey take Best Appearing at Twin Valley Parade

On Saturday May 12th, 2012 sixteen members of the Modena Fire Company took Engine 37-1, Engine 37-3, Ambulance 37-2, Brush 37, and Traffic 37 to Twin Valley Fire Department Parade and Housing.

The Twin Valley Fire Department put on a parade and housing for their members, active crew, and neighboring stations which help put things into perspective for all their hard work, dedication which led to the combination of Elverson and Morgantown Fire Companies.

Twin Valley Fire Department hosted a great parade which held over 100 fire apparatus and many companies from Chester, Berks, Lancaster and Montgomery Counties. The event was held on a beautiful day and had good spirits throughout.

After parading crew got a look at the new station of the Twin Valley Fire Department the station is state of the art and is a beautiful facility. After enjoying a wonderful lunch provided by Twin Valley it was time for the much anticipated awards ceremony.

Twin Valley handed out awards a little different then the normal; they nominated the top three trucks in each category and only awarded the top truck the trophies or what they were calling VOLLY AWARDS.

Engine 37-3 was nominated and awarded Best Appearing Engine 1985 and older

Ambulance 37-2 was nominated and awarded Best Appearing BLS Unit

Smokey the Dalmatian was nominated and awarded Best Appearing Dalmatian

Engine 37-1 also received nomination in the Engine 1986 to 1995 category but was edged out by a very nice piece from Amity Fire Company

Chief Dowlin got a chance to say a few word after accepting Engine 37-3 award he thanked Twin Valley for the invite and wished them the best of luck in the new facility. The Chief also thanked his crew for all their hard work over the past week scrubbing and cleaning getting all the apparatus ready for the parade.

All in all it was a beautiful day for a parade and everyone in attendance was winners, the officers and members would again like to thank Twin Valley for the hospitality throughout the day and like to wish you the best in the future as a Department and with your wonderful facility.
