Full Company Assist on 2 Alarm Apartment Building Fire in the City

On Sunday evening April 6 2014 the Modena Fire Company was dispatched as part of the working fire dispatch on a working apartment building fire in the 700 block of Coates Street in Coatesville City.

Engine 37-1, Engine 37-2, Traffic 37, and Ambulance 37-2 all made the response on scene found city crew working a two story 1/2 double multiple family home. Crew quickly went to work entering the structure to extinguish the blaze and open up walls. As crews made the second floor condition quickly deteriorated and the floor flashed over, an evacuation ordered by Command pulling all personnel out and going defensive.

Master streams were used for a short time before interior operation continued and allowing crews to fully open up and overhaul the structure.

The fire was placed under control at 8:47 PM, with crews remaining on the scene until 11:00 PM.

Crews remained on station past the 12:00 hour cleaning up equipment and refilling bottles.
