10 plus Acres of Field and Woods Burns in East Fallowfield Township

On Sunday April 13, 2014 the Modena Fire Company was dispatched to a reported field fire at 201 Morning Star Lane in East Fallowfield Township.

Deputy 37 responded and was advised caller reported 100 by 200 area burning, Deputy 37 arrived on scene with 3 to 4 acres burning and spreading rapidly, he established Morning Star command requesting additional tankers and brush trucks.

Brush 37 and Engine 37-1 were first units on scene and attempted to stop the fire spread on the right flank, Engine 37-2 and 3 took the left flank. Multiple mutual aid companies arrived on scene and assisted. The fire was contained with all units working a hour and half after dispatch.

An engine from 31 established a fill sight to fill tankers at Branford Boulevard and Buck Run Road.

All said and done 9 acres of field and a acre and a half of woods burnt in the fire that was caused by unattended burning.
