Early Morning Hay Bale Fire in West Marlborough

In the early morning hours of October 1, 2014 the Modena Fire Company volunteers were alert at 0217 for a fire type unknown in the area of 1245 Doe Run Road in West Marlborough Township.

Units were advised that the called reported a large fire in the middle of the field. Units arrived to find the large fire to be around 400 hay bales burning.

Chapel CP requested additional engine from Po-Mar-Lin and first alarm tankers.

Units on scene used master streams to knock balk of flames down, after some further discussions it was decided that the fire was not endangering anything and it was decided to let them burn out under residents supervision.

Units were released and stand-byes were sent home.

Modena units remained on scene until 0708 for ember control.
