House Fire In East Fallowfield Assisting The Westwood Fire Company

On December 1st, 2014, At 10:41 the Modena Fire Company was dispatched to the 100 block of Radford Way in East Fallowfield Township to assist the Westwood Fire Company on a reported house fire.

Engine 37-2, Ambulance 37-2, Traffic 37 and Battalion 44 (Sly) responded shortly after dispatch and were advised by the 911 center that the caller reported her garage on fire with visible fire from the garage. East Fallowfield Police Department and Deputy 37 (Perine) arrived to confirm the report with multiple explosions coming from the garage.

Battalion 44 arrived at 10:47 and assumed the "Radford Command" Engine 44-5 was the first arriving apparatus their crew dropped a supply line to a near by fire hydrant and pulled a hand-line and began suppression efforts. Engine 37-2 was the next arriving and their crew was advised to finish hooking up the supply line to the fire hydrant and assist Engine 44-5's crew with suppression efforts.

Engine 31-2 arrived and was advised to throw ground ladders around the structure and to setup for ventilation. Engine 27-5 and Engine 27-2's crews were advised to report to the manpower pool and await further orders which was in front of Engine 44-5. Chief 44 (McWilliams) arrived and took over interior operations.

The fire was placed under control at 11:04 with all hands working. Radford Command requested a response from the fire marshals and utility companies along with a tow truck from flings towing as a vehicle that was damaged from the fire had to be removed from the garage for crews to perform salvage and overhaul operations.
