Santa Makes His Annual Rounds in the First Due One Day Early

On Tuesday December 23th 2014 Santa made is annual visit to the Modena Fire Company to make his rounds in their first due response area.

Residents of Modena, South Coatesville, East Fallowfield, and parts of Newlin, West Marlbough have been seeing Santa ride a Modena fire truck past their homes for the past 30 plus years on Christmas Eve. However this year Christmas Eve forecast was calling for heavy rain and high winds so a decision was made to take Santa around a day early.

Some residents even told us that this company tradition has become a tradition for their families, some say it don't fell like Christmas until they see Santa on that truck.

For company members this has become a yearly tradition that was started before most of the active crew can even remember but is one tradition that will never change. The evening starts around 3pm and for four hours crews travel around the district handing candy to the excited children in the area.

We would like to thank the residents for your kindness and gifts throughout the night and hope we made your Christmas a special one.

We hope that next year Mother Nature will cooperate with us and we can get back to coming around on Christmas Eve.

If any resident had taken pictures and would like to add them to this news article please e-mail them to chief37fd@aol.com and we will that they are added.

From all the members at Modena we wish everyone a safe and Happy Holiday.
