Accident with Entrapment on South 1st Ave in South Coatesville

On Saturday morning June 27, 2015 the Modena Fire Company was dispatched at 0755 along with Rescue 44 and Medic 93 to an reported accident with entrapment at Modena Road and South 1st Ave in South Coatesville Borough.

Assistant Chief Bryant made the response and was advised that South Coatesville PD was on scene confirming one trapped. Ambulance 37-2 and Engine 37-3 made the response, first unit on scene reported one v/s pole confirming the entrapment.

Assistant 37 arrived assumed South 1st Ave Command. Ambulance 37-2 crew gained access to the car and started patient care, Engine 37-3 crew stabilized the vehicle, pulled a hose line, and started extrication with hydraulic tools .

Rescue 44 arrived and crews worked together to finish the extrication, removing doors, roof, and rolling the dash.

Extrication was complete at 0831, patient was transported to local trauma center.

Flings towing arrived to remove the car from pole and haul it away, All fire apparatus cleared the scene at 0911
