Full Company Assist on Working House Fire in West Bradford

On Sunday morning August 23rd at 1101 hours the Modena Fire Company was dispatched for full company to assist West Bradford on a dwelling in the 2200 block of Strawberry Lane in West Bradford Township.

Chief 39 (Law) made the response and was advised by County Radio that the caller seen smoke from basement and now reporting smoke coming from the eves of the house. Assistant 37 (Bryant) was first on scene reporting a working fire at the point additional companies were added.

Engine 37-2 made the response with a crew of five and was the second engine on scene picking up the hydrant at Blueberry and Cranberry laying 700 feet of 5 inch supply line feeding Engine 39, the 37 crew split up and went to work interior with 39 personnel and exterior throwing ground ladders and making a hit on the fire.

Other arriving units all went to work as well, together all company’s involved quickly brought the fire under control with extensive overhaul to be done after the fire marshals investigation.

After the fire was brought under control Ambulance 37-2 and station 36 apparatus made the response to a motorcycle accident in West Marlborough Township, and Traffic 37 responded to assist Westwood on a barn fire in East Fallowfield Township.

Modena units cleared the scene in West Bradford around 2pm and returned to station for cleanup.
