On Monday October 26, 2015 the Modena Fire Company was again very busy with a parade detail and weekly training.

Engine 37-3 and Traffic 37 traveled to Honeybrook to assist them with their annual Halloween Parade, Traffic 37 and fire police closed 322 in town to allow bands, floats and children in costume to parade. Engine 37-3 provided lighting for floats throughout the parade.

Meanwhile back in Modena the active crew traveled to South Coatesville to the Public Safety Training Center to conduct weekly training. This week’s training was on forcible entry, and search and rescue. Tonight training the crew got a chance to try out the gas props which provided Smokey conditions within the tower, this element is something county first responders didn’t have before but this new wonderful facility offers.

As training was just ramping up the company was dispatched to a reported house fire at 1800 West Chester Road, crews quickly made the response and on scene found a resident that started his fire place for the first time this season and forgot to open the damper. The incident was held to Modena units and placed under control; crew ventilated the residents and cleared a short time later returning back to the training center to continue their weekly training.

Crews returned to the station around 10pm
