On Tuesday morning at 0205 the Modena Fire Company was dispatched along with Westwood to an electrical fire inside a dwelling at 518 South 1st Ave in South Coatesville.

Engine 37-2 and Engine 44-5 arrived on scene and found the fire to be out, the resident was running a space heater when they heard arcing at the electrical socket. The resident quickly unplugged the heater and then put water onto the outlet. Police arrived on scene and killed the power to the room involved.

During our time in the residents found some other concerns like smoke detectors missing or hanging from wires with no batteries, also found open electrical connections, occupants were advised to advise landlord of addition concerns and for their safety get batteries in the smoke detector.
