On Wednesday March 30 shortly before 4 pm, the Modena Fire Company was alerted to assist the Coatesville Fire Department on a report house fire at 42 S. Sixth Ave.

Engine 37-1 made the response with a crew of six.

Ladder 41-1 and Engine 43 arrived on scene with smoke showing reporting fire in the kitchen, city personnel deployed one hand line and quickly knocked the fire down. Arriving mutual aid unit conducted primary search of both units and placed in service positive pressure fans.

Mutual aid units then wrapped up supply line laid by engine 43 and then were released.

Before leaving the city limits county radio alerted a second call in the city for a reported building fire at the Gordon Elementary School.

Ladder 41-1 cleared the first call and responded along with Engine's 37-1, 37-2, 76, and Rescue 38.

On scene there was a little haze in the building with a odor of electrical burning, crews split up and went to the roof and some crews started to pull ceiling tiles, after some investigation it was determined that the ac unit on the roof had burnt up.

All units cleared the second call at 1656.
