Mother's Day Early Morning Fire in City |

On the morning of May 8th Mother’s Day as crews were recovering from their great night of partying at the banquet, the Modena Fire Company was alerted at 1015 to a reported dwelling fire at 49 S. Fifth Ave in Coatesville City. Engine 37-1 and Engine 37-3 both made the response, City units arrived with smoke showing and minutes later upgraded to a working fire dispatch. Crews were reporting a working basement fire. Engine 37-1 arrived and hit a second hydrant and laid into the rear of the structure, interior crew were then reporting fire to be knocked and hold assignment to what was on scene. Engine 37-1 crew assisted with overhaul and ventilation. Engine 37-3 was redirected to station 41 for standby. Crew quickly wrapped up the supply line on Engine 37-1 and cleared the scene at 1046, Engine 37-3 remained on standby till 12 noon.
