Members of the Modena Fire Company want their community to know that if there's a emergency, they'll be covered by some of the best trained firefighters.

The Modena Fire Company reached a new level of certification based on nationally recognized standards. State fire commissioner, and the state fire academy's Certification Through Education program recognizes fire departments that have achieved 10, 50, 75 and 100 percent certification levels.

"Seventy-five percent of the department's available firefighters have achieved certification through the National Professional Qualifications Board, a program which provides certification oversight of fire service professionals.

Chief Dowlin stated "It's a lot of work, a lot of dedication," and that's way I'm proud to be the leader of this group. He says The Modena Fire Company is up to 92-percent, and closing in on 100-percent.

The Modena Fire Company joins only 8th others company's in Chester County at the 75% level and hope to join the other eight in the county at 100% in the next year.
