Engine 37-1 relocates to Station 23

This morning at 0157 hrs. Station 37 was alerted to relocate 1 engine to Station 23 while they operated on a large hail bay fire which was consuming 1000 large bales along Newark Rd, New Garden Twp. Engine 37-1 made the response shortly after dispatch and met up with Tanker 39 and Ambulance 21-3. Once at Station 23 crews stood by until approximately 0600 hrs. with no additional responses made. at which time Station 23 units returned. Once Station 23 units were back in quarters, crews from Engine 37-1 and Tanker 39 assisted members of the Avondale Fire Company with washing and repacking hose onto Engine 23-1 before being released.

This was the second time within the past 6 days Station 23 has battled a large hay bail fire. On July 14, Engine 37-2 was alerted to assist with suppression efforts of approximately 600 bails on fire along Ellicott Rd, New Garden Twp.
