The Modena Fire Company took on a new endeavor starting this month, we are pleased to interduce Rehab 37.

Rehab 37 is a trailer that pulled by a support vehicle in our case will be Squad 37. This unit is equipped with allot of equipment to set up and or support a fire incident rehab for firefighters, equipment includes some of the following.

Misting fans, tents, benches, seats, coolers, hand washing station, cases of water, snake food for blood sugar needs and much more.

The trailer itself has AC, and heat for shelter the trailer is powered by a generator which also provides lighting in and around the trailer.

Chester County currently has provided 4 of these units to EMS agencies, these agencies are Good Fellowship EMS, Minquas EMS, Elverson-Honeybrook EMS, and now Modena EMS

Currently rehab trailers are dispatched only on a request basis, the problem comes in that chief’s usual don’t remember that that asset is available to them till late in the incident or at all.

The Rehab Committee is finalizing a policy to be presented to the County Chiefs very soon to help take some of the burden off the chief’s and get Rehab units started earlier in incident’s. This will make the Rehab trailers a bigger asset for all involved and at the end of the day provided a mandatory need for our county fire fighters.

Rehab 37 has the potential to be very busy as it is the closest trailer for the west and southern districts of the county.

We ask that all chiefs please remember it’s here and available for your firefighter’s safety.
