Working Dwelling in the City

On the morning of January 7, 2017, the Modena Fire Company was alerted at 0827 to assist the Coatesville Fire Department on a report dwelling fire on the 800 block of Coates Street in the city. Also on the assignment were Thorndale, and the Coatesville V.A. Fire Department.

Ladder 41-1 arrived on scene report 2 story middle of the row with smoke showing. Engine 43-1 grabbed a plug and crews stretched a hand line into the #1 floor. A second handline was stretched onto the #2 floor, the bulk of the fire which was on the #1 floor was quickly knocked, crews continued to check for extension opening the walls.

Following some clean up the assignment was reduced to Modena and City units.

Modena crews remained on scene for over an hour assisting with overhaul and the fire investigation being conducted by county and state Fire Marshals.

Modena units cleared the scene at 1030.
