Working Garage Fire in South Coatesville Box 3704

On Friday evening January 13, 2017, The Modena Fire Company was alert at 1650 for a reported garage fire on West Chester Road in South Coatesville Borough. Also due on the assignment was Coatesville, Thorndale, Coatesville VA, Westwood, Sadsburyville, and East Brandywine for RIT.

Battalion 37 made the immediate response and was notified by county they were receiving multiple calls and alerting the working fire dispatch. Chief 37 arrived a minute later and report a detached garage well involved and established West Chester Road Command.

Ladder 41-1 was first on scene and stretched a 1 ¾ attack line and started fire suppression. Engine 76 arrived and supplied Ladder 41. Engine 37-1 lead a supply line from West Chester and Woodward. Manpower reported to manpower for deployment.

The fire was placed under control at 1710 with all units working, some units were released shortly after holding it to 37, 41, and 76.
The Chester County Fire Marshal’s Office arrived and completed their investigation. Overhaul was completed after investigation.

All units cleared the scene at 1852.
