Earlier this month Chief Dowlin received a request for a standby engine for Townsend in New Castle County Delaware. On Saturday January 14, 2017 Engine 37-1 with a crew of six traveled to Townsend to standby so their member could enjoy the night off for their annual banquet.

The night was fixing to be a long one starting at 3pm and going to 6am Sunday morning.

Once at Townsend crew took time to get acclimated to the station and operations of New Castle County.

Around 630 the crew joined the members of Townsend in their banquet for dinner, tonight menu included shrimp cocktail, prime rib, lobster tail, and much more. Following dinner it was off to the recliners for some play off football.

Following the game the crew stopped back over to the party and took notice that not much action was going on the dance floor, so in typical Modena fashion they requested a few songs and got the party started.

Fortunately the night was quiet and the crew got some sleep handling no calls till 6 am.

We would like to thank Townsend for their hospitality through the night and wish everyone a safe 2017, we look forward to working together again in the future.
