It is with deepest regret that the Modena Fire Company along with Christiana Community Ambulance Association & the Keystone Valley Fire Department, announce the Line of Duty Death of a beloved EMS provider, EMT Robert W. Ashby Sr. EMT Ashby passed away on Monday, October 2, 2017
EMT Ashby started his EMS career at Good Fellowship Ambulance in West Chester, he then followed up by joining First West Chester Fire Company to start his firefighting career. Bob was a Life Member of First West Chester Fire Company, serving as a Lieutenant and a Captain. He was also a Life Member of the Atglen Fire Department, holding the positions of Deputy & Assistant Chief during his time there. Bob was also a Charter Life Member of the Keystone Valley Fire Department.
After retirement from the Tank Trailer industry Bob continued to work part-time for Modena Fire Company EMS & the Christiana Community Ambulance Association as an EMT. He was still working at both places at the time of his death.
EMT Ashby will receive full EMS Honors as his life is memorialized. Visitations will be held on Thursdsay, October 5, 2017 from 5:00 PM-8:00 PM and again on Friday, October 6, 2017 from 9:30 AM-11:00 AM. Services will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 11:00 AM. The location of the visitations and service will be held at DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 410 North Church Street, West Chester PA. EMT Ashby will be honored with a motor procession following the service by the EMS agencies and Fire Departments in which he was affiliated. EMT Ashby's final resting place will be St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester.
