By Fire Chief Frank Dowlin
January 16, 2021

The Modena Fire Company was contact around the first of the year by Chief Overholt of the East Waterford Fire Company in Juniata County PA asking if the 2001 KME Engine was still for sale.

After gathering information about the truck and a evening visit to East Waterford for crews to look over the truck their Board of Directors approved the purchase pending a pumping session.

On Saturday January 16 Chief Overholt and his President traveled down to Modena, The truck was taken to Dr Lions farm in East Fallowfield and a drafting session was done, to no surprise to us the old girl pumped her heart out for about 30 minutes.

Following the pump session Chief Dowlin and Overholt went to the local notary and made the sale official, After returning to station crews took one last picture with the truck before it headed out to it new home.

Around 12 noon the truck pulled away from Modena for one last time, heading to it new home in Juniata County about two and half hours away.

The Modena Fire Company would like to Thanks Chief Overholt and his members for a quick and smooth transaction, we wish you the best of luck and have no doubt that our old girl will serve you well just as it has here for 20 years.
