Passing of Life Member Sam Porreca (Updated with Funeral Services)

It's with our deepest regrets that the Modena Fire Company announces the passing of Sam Porreca on Sunday February 5, 2023.

Sam joined the company in the late 1950’s and was a active member through the 70’s, Sam remained part of the company helping where he could with fundraisers ex.

Sam will be dearly missed by all of us.

Obituary and Service info for Sam Porreca below:

Samuel R. Porreca, 82, formerly of Modena, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at the Chester County Hospital in West Chester, PA. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Lorrenzo Porreca and Raffie DaBundo Porreca.

Sam was an area resident all his life. He was a 66 year member of the Modena Fire Company, a member of the Washington Hose Co. in Coatesville, the former Brandywine Fire Co. of Coatesville and Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Coatesville.

He was employed by PennDOT with the road crew department.

He is survived by four siblings; Larry Reitz of New Holland, PA, Anthony Porreca and wife Linda of Honey Brook, PA, Angelo Porreca of New Holland, PA and Christine Porreca also of New Holland, PA, several nephews and nieces including niece Mary Lou Trego and nephew Samuel Trego. He was preceded in death by a son Samuel Ray Porreca.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA followed by inurnment at the St. Cecilia Cemetery, Coatesville, PA. Visitation from 10:00 AM to the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made be made in his memory to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675 or St. Judes Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
